FAQ
You can apply for Singapore Permanent Residency (PR) if you fall into a category recognised by the Immigration & Checkpoints Authority (ICA): the spouse of a Singapore citizen or PR; an unmarried child under 21 of a Singapore citizen or PR; an aged parent of a Singapore citizen who is at least 21 years old; an Employment Pass (EP) or S Pass holder; a student studying in Singapore; or a foreign investor under the Global Investor Programme. Meeting a category lets you apply, but approval depends on ICA's overall assessment of your profile.
ICA does not publish a fixed best time to apply, and meeting an eligibility category is enough to submit. In practice, a longer and more stable record in Singapore, with steady or rising income and genuine family and community ties, tends to present a stronger profile. We review your situation before suggesting when to apply.
Yes. ICA lets you submit a new Singapore PR application after a rejection, and it does not publish a fixed waiting period or a limit on the number of attempts. Because ICA usually does not give detailed reasons for a rejection, it helps to strengthen the weaker parts of your profile or documentation before reapplying, which is the focus of our appeal and reapplication support.
No. No consultant can guarantee Singapore PR approval, because every application is assessed by ICA and the final decision rests with them. We help you prepare a complete, accurate, and well-organised application that presents your profile as clearly and strongly as possible.
Commonly required documents include your passport and current work pass, an employment letter and recent payslips, your latest income tax (IRAS) details, education and professional certificates, a recent passport-style photo, and identity and family documents such as your birth certificate and, where relevant, marriage and children's birth certificates. ICA publishes a full document checklist for each scheme, and any non-English document must come with an official translation.
ICA states that it aims to process most Singapore PR applications within six months, provided all required documents are submitted and in order, although some cases take longer. Submitting a complete and accurate application helps avoid unnecessary delays.
Yes. As the main applicant you can include your spouse and unmarried children under 21 (born within a legal marriage or legally adopted) in the same submission. Each person included is charged the application fee and must confirm their own details, so prepare supporting documents such as marriage and birth certificates.
As a Singapore PR you can live and work in Singapore without a work pass, take part in the CPF system, buy a resale HDB flat subject to eligibility, and access certain healthcare and education benefits. After holding PR for the required period you may also apply for Singapore citizenship. Note that PRs need a valid Re-Entry Permit to travel and return to Singapore, and male PRs and their sons may be liable for National Service.
ICA charges a non-refundable application fee of S$100 per applicant at submission. If your application is approved, further fees apply to complete formalities, currently S$20 for the Entry Permit, S$50 for a 5-year Re-Entry Permit, and S$50 for the Singapore Identity Card. Fees can change, so always check ICA's official website for the current amounts. Our first consultation is free.
No. You can apply yourself directly through ICA's official e-Service using Singpass. A consultant is optional and can help you assess your readiness, organise your documents, and present your profile clearly, but it does not change how ICA assesses or decides your application.
ICA assesses each applicant holistically, considering factors such as economic contribution, qualifications, age, family ties to Singaporeans, family profile, and length of residence in Singapore. You can present a stronger profile by building a longer, more stable record here, showing steady or rising income, completing relevant qualifications, and demonstrating genuine roots and contributions. No single step guarantees approval, but a clear, well-documented profile helps.
Generally, you can apply for Singapore citizenship after you have been a PR for at least two years and are aged 21 or above. Other routes exist, for example for spouses and children of Singapore citizens. As with PR, meeting the criteria lets you apply, but the final decision rests with ICA.
No. No consultant or service can guarantee PR approval, because ICA makes the final decision on every application. What we can do is help you submit a complete, accurate, and clearly presented application that gives your profile its best chance.
