When can a PR apply for Singapore citizenship?

You can apply if you have been a Singapore PR for at least 2 years and are aged 21 or above. You may apply together with your PR spouse and unmarried children below 21. A PR married to a Singapore citizen can apply after being a PR for at least 2 years and married for at least 2 years.

How long does a Singapore citizenship application take?

ICA states that citizenship applications are processed within 12 months, provided all required documents are in order. Some applications take longer.

Does Singapore allow dual citizenship?

No. Singapore does not recognise dual citizenship for adults. Successful applicants must renounce their existing foreign citizenships as part of the process, which is an important personal decision to consider before applying.

The ICA fee is S$100 for each application by adult PRs and children of PRs. On approval, there is a fee of S$70 for the Singapore Citizenship Certificate and S$10 for the Identity Card for new citizens aged 15 and above.
